A Rose is a Rose

My friend asked me to make her mum a birthday card to celebrate her 80th Birthday. It was a perfect opportunity to use the 2 step stamping set A Rose is a Rose, such an easy technique but gives a great end result. I added heat and stick powder and dazzling diamonds to the large and small roses to give a bit of bling. The colours used are pretty in pink and regal rose for the flowers and old olive for the leaves. The ribbon is the matching regal rose (Stampin Up make it easy for you).

I forgot to take photo but I decorated the envelope and insert as well and I was very happy with how it turned out.

Sent to Coventry!

Sorry for the lack of posting over the last few weeks. Have had lots of work to get through and last week I went to our Stampin Up Regional Event in Coventry. I had a great day and picked up loads of useful tips from other very experienced demos and we even got to make some cards as well. Some of the Demo's entered projects in the Demonstrator's Choice, and the entries were really inspiring. The winning entry was a fabulous 3d watering can filled with paper flowers. Very impressive.

When we all get together we make cards to swap with each other and I have uploaded the one I made. I sat up til 2 in the morning finishing them in my hotel room!
The products are from the new mini catalogue which launches on the 1st of April. I am hoping to hold an open house show case as I love just about everything in it (my bank manger doesn't though). I will post the details as soon as they are finalised. I used the two step bird punch, jewellery tag punch and the new stamp set, tiny tags which works with it. The centre of the flower I added a tiny touch of champagne shimmer paint.

Perfect Pairs

Time to say farewell to our Sale-a-bration and welcome to a brand new offer for March, Perfect Pairs. As you may know, Stampin Up are very good at matching up punches and stamp sets to work perfectly together. Take a look at the link to the promotion and you will see you can purchase a punch with 20% off when you buy one of the stamp sets in the promotion (does not have to be the one that goes with the set). You can also purchase the full heart punch while stocks last. Once this goes out of stock it won't be back until 1st October.

To take advantage of this great offer, please email me on alpha.2004@blueyonder.co.uk

We had a very full and enjoyable class last night using the Blooming With Beauty set. This quickly became a favourite with me, all the stamps are so usable either on their own or as part of the set. We made a shaped card for either Mother's Day or a special birthday, a matching box/ envelope and a tag to complete the set. I love this colour combination of Perfect Plum and Pale Plum. We water coloured the image using the ink pads.

The box/envelope I found here. I adapted the measurements to fit my A6 card size. As we decoupaged the flower image several times this just gives you a nice way to present the card without squashing it.

We made a pretty tag, finished off with gold cord, which could be tied round a candle as shown or used on a gift.

More Butterflies

I enjoyed preparing my last class using Flight of the Butterfly so much, I decided to make a couple more projects using a different colour scheme. I indulged myself and chose some of my favourite Stampin Up colours, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery and Pretty in pink.

I also made a 2/5/7/10 boxes from Splitcoast. These are so easy to make and look really pretty.
Finally another 4 inch easel card (I think I am addicted to these), I used some of the lovely pearls and beads from the Pretties kits on the box and the mini card.

Just a little reminder that the Sale.a.bration promotion will end on 28/02/10 so if you have been thinking you might like one of the free stamp sets do get in touch. You can find a link to the leaflet at the top of the side bar.

Cupcakes

Many thanks to everyone who made it to my Crazy for Cupcakes class in Romford last night. We all braved freezing weather to make it. A warm welcome to Lorraine and Patricia who came for the first time, hope you enjoyed the class.

We made a 4inch easel card paper piecing the cupcake and using the scallop edge punch to make a decorative background. For the this card we decoupaged the top cup cake and added lots of glitter. We also decorated the inside using the cupcakes wheel.

Finally we used the ballon stamp, again paper pieced. The 1/2 inch circle punch was used to make the decorative corners. Crystal effects was applied to the ballons to make them nice and glossy. The stamp-a-ma-jig was well used last night with everyone finding it a great tool for positioning the stamps.

100% calorie free cakes! But I did make a batch of real cup cakes for our coffee break.

Flight of the Butterfly

We started our regular Monday night classes again last week, it was great to catch up with everyone after a bit of a break. We used two of my favourite sets, Flight of the Butterfly and Pocket shilouettes they work so well together and I had seen so many lovely examples using these. As easel cards are all the rage at the moment we created two, an A6 sized one and a 4inch square card.
Finally, a little tea light cover (LED tea light).
The butterfly punch perfectly matches the stamp set. Papers used are from the gorgeous Bella Bleu designer paper pack.

I think evey one was very pleased with their creations.
